The most recent edition of Crain’s Business Cleveland features interviews with several Northeast Ohio experts regarding their predictions surrounding tech trends in 2022.  Among those interviewed were IOTC Co-Executive Directors Nick Barendt and Shilpa Kedar.

According to Nick Barendt, who also serves as Executive Director of ISSACS at Case Western Reserve University, the use of LoRaWAN technology will become more widespread in 2022 because it presents a low-cost alternative for many applications for which expensive cellular connections are currently the default.

Shilpa Kedar, Executive Director of the CSU T.E.C.H. Hub, says that “we can expect to see increased innovation around telehealth, particularly as it applies to addressing chronic conditions like diabetes.”  She also expects that we will likely see a significant increase in the focus on privacy and cybersecurity.
