  • Serve as a thought leader by connecting industry partners with faculty to develop  customized IoT solutions and applied research.
  • Establish Greater Cleveland as a world-class region in the creation and translation of connected products, services and solutions—and also serve as the driver for the adoption of progressive, market leading IoT solutions in the private and public sectors in Northeast Ohio.
Industry+technology hub

Two primary thrusts, focused on two high growth areas in Cleveland: Connected Health and Smart Manufacturing. The primary goals of the Industry+Technology hub are to drive cutting edge research and education at our universities and serve as a catalyst for technology-driven economic development in Cleveland. In the near term, we are driving towards the following goals.

  • Secure federally funded, nationally recognized research centers focused on Smart Manufacturing and Connected Health to catalyze university, industry, and regional efforts.
  • Expand technical curriculum and experiential learning opportunities to meet talent needs of industry.
  • Drive adoption of Smart Manufacturing technologies and processes in select small and medium-size manufacturers in Greater Cleveland.
Community+technology hub

Focused on building research, education, and engagement in Public Interest Technology. The primary goal of the Community+Technology hub is to drive human-centered approaches to technology development and deployment  keeping the public interest paramount. Near term goals include:

  • Secure federal research and philanthropic funding to deploy Smart and Sensible Cities Technologies.
  • Develop Public Interest Technology curriculum to prepare future leaders of the public and nonprofit sectors to lead in a technology-infused world.
  • Raise awareness of issues in Public Interest Technology.
