The IoT Collaborative invites you to a conversation on the

“Internet of Things: Privacy, Security and Ethical Issues”

As the number of connected devices increases in both public and private spaces, organizations and individuals are confronting a distinct and often conflicting set of security, privacy, and ethical challenges. Join two experts from Cleveland State and Case Western Reserve Universities to learn more about these challenges and how research at both institutions is working on multidisciplinary approaches to navigating them.

Brian Ray co-founded and directs CSU’s Center for Cybersecurity and Privacy Protection. His research focuses on security and privacy regulation, national and international jurisdiction over data, and data governance, collection and use policies at the municipal, county and state levels.

 

Dr. Suzanne Rivera is an Associate Professor of Bioethics at the CWRU School of Medicine and her scholarship focuses on the ethical dimensions of regulations governing the protection of research subjects, including privacy considerations. She also serves as the University’s Vice President for Research and Technology Management. In this role, she oversees institutional policies related to data collection, use, and sharing for research purposes.
