Dr. Kenneth A. Loparo, the Arthur L. Parker Professor at the Case School of Engineering, Case Western Reserve University, joined NPR host Rick Jackson on August 10, 2020, to discuss how people can use community-level risk assessment from data-driven modeling to help with making day-to-day decisions during the pandemic. Later the same day, he shared his research at the Cleveland Science Cafe’s virtual lecture event entitled “How Can We Manage Daily Needs During a Pandemic?”. Both events emphasized the importance of how publicly available data can be transformed into actionable information to assist with making informed decisions about how to stay safe while managing daily needs.
