Dr. Nigamanth Sridhar, IOTC Co-Academic Director and Professor of Computer Science at Cleveland State University, will moderate a virtual forum hosted by the City Club of Cleveland in collaboration with the Cleveland Foundation and the Marconi Society. Titled “Connecting Cleveland: How Broadband Technologies Can Help Build a 21st Century City,” the event will explore how legacy and emerging technologies can be used to help build an inclusive 21st century city. The forum will be livestreamed on December 9th beginning at 4 p.m.
The two featured guests are both eminent scholars and Marconi Prize recipients: Dr. Arogyaswami Paulraj, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford, who pioneered the MIMO technology which is embedded in current high speed WiFi and 4G mobile systems; and Dr. John Cioffi, Hitachi Professor Emeritus of Engineering at Stanford, who designed the world’s first ADSL and VDSL modems that ultimately enabled widespread access to broadband networks.
