Project Description

Visualizing the Transformation of Downtown Cleveland
Center for Public History + Digital Humanities (CPHDH)
at Cleveland State University
Smart City Project Overview

The Visualizing the Transformation of Downtown Cleveland project will visualize street-level, street-facing building uses along the downtown portion of Euclid Avenue. The project will include map- and graph-based visualizations with interactive features based on data harvested from Cleveland city directories from the late 1920s-late 1990s. This project expands the dataset and builds a prototype data visualization website that may scale to a comparative, collaborative project with partners at other urban public universities in the Great Lakes Region.
